The 2024 campaign for Judge Jamie Tyndal to keep her position as Hamilton County Judge was a project I really enjoyed working on, as I had not done a political campaign before this. Working closely with Judge Tyndal, I was able to get her wants and needs in what makes her campaign personal to her, and I combined those ideas with my knowledge of design to make it successful. This is currently an ongoing campaign as of February 2024, and the outlook is looking promising for Judge Tyndal.
Shown here is the original conception of the campaign logo. I had made a few different options that would represent the Hamilton County area, while still showing the personality and youth and Judge Tyndal. In the Hamilton County area, there wasn't much of a young, design-centered approach to the competitor's campaigns. We took this opportunity to show a bigger amount of effort put into Judge Tyndal's campaign as opposed to the competition, in terms of current design trends and incorporating Hamilton County in a more stylistic way.
Simple Logo 2 was the winner with Judge Tyndal, as it was simple and straight to the point, and we were able to quickly get this processed and onto shirts and pens for her inauguration. The next part of this mission was keeping her position as the judge and working on a campaign project together.
The next step of this campaign was focusing in on colors that work best for print and reworking the logo for a campaign platform. Judge Tyndal ultimately wanted to go with darker colors that would stand out more on the street against the off-white logo. The sign above is an 8 ft x 4 ft billboard-style street sign. This sign was going to be sitting amongst other campaign signs in the near vicinity, so we needed to make sure it popped. Adding an image of Judge Tyndal to the billboard further personalized this approach and gave a face to the campaign. Subtle changes to the logo included "Keep Judge" going above the logo to emphasize the role of this campaign is to keep her in her position.
As the campaign continues, I will update this page to include more of the designs we incorporate.
